I believe the fact that he was from Hawaii is how the jump was made by some. I, too, thought he was Samoan, and he really looks a little islandish, IMO, but I don't care about that. What I do care about is that he plays some good down and drty, hard nosed football for us. I like it, and I have seen him get better each year. He is a beast, and he is our beast. I like it!

It makes no difference. However, he was playing high school football in Hawaii because his dad was stationed there. Needless to say, when I found out Clemson was recruiting him I was super happy because I was stationed at Hawaii at that time as well. He's a beast and that goes without saying that's for sure.

That's a common Hawaii practice. It's not Somoan it's Polynesian in general.

I know that, but he grew up in Hawaii and it's a common practice there. I lived there for 5 years, and there were guys whiter than me who had Mauri Warrior Tattoos. Its usually done when a Hawaii family adopts you into their family and has a luau for you. A real Luau not the Paradise Cove fake ones.
