POLITICO on the Hunter Biden "scandal"

Like I keep saying, there is the Fox News Bubble, in which reality is basically this ongoing Reality-TV serial drama in which Hunter Biden has somehow become the lead villainous figure who is about to be EXPOSED FOR CORRUPTION, taking his father (who is of course the "Big Guy", the string-pulling arch-villain who lurks just offstage)...tune in TOMORROW for the NEXT EPISODE!

A few comments here: first, it must be noted the Foxies never actually specify what that "corruption" is exactly...and of course their credulous viewers never ask. Secondly, they never actually provide evidence...every single time, when it comes time to examine the phones, E-mails, or evidence itself, it's always strangely "unavailable" and they're about to deliver that evidence to the "proper authorities." (You would think if the "evidence" was that compelling and legit that's the first place these concerned citizens would have delivered it, but nevermind that too.) And lastly, it seems distinctly odd that since the issue at hand is SINISTER CHINESE INFLUENCE the Foxers and their glaze-eyed viewers rather completely ignore the fact that their very own president and his children not only have a Chinese bank account but made verified millions in payola from the Chinese while in office...but nevermind that too. Next subject already.

People outside the bubble on the other hand, look at all the furor and ruckus and wonder what the heck is going on in that bubble. It looks kind of like a whole lot of really brainwashed folks speaking in tongues.

Mind, as a viable political or legal strategy, it's dubious, because there's a lot more folks outside the bubble than there are inside, and those of us not in that bubble think those inside are acting really weird. But hey, the Reality Show President has set up a Reality Show Presidency, and the show obviously must go on, whether it makes any kind of sense to non-viewers or not.

Politico - arguably the most dead-neutral political site in America - certainly agrees. My favorite line: "One of the first things George W. Bush did after leaving office was to deliver a paid speech in China. Somehow he remains at large."

What Biden did is normal. Unfortunately.

But just as foreign aid comes with strings attached, so do political favors. Biden's son is just one of probably hundreds of family members of politicians from both parties, who extract money for political favors. Ever wonder how everyone in Congress becomes wealthy? This activity crosses party lines. But when you have someone making 150K controlling billions of dollars (and the laws), they leverage that to get wealthy. It's a massive ROI for the business. The relatively small amount it takes to pull favors from someone making 150k to help your business bring in millions... A $20K bribe can net you millions. A stock tip. A vacation on the company yacht. Some college admission strings pulled for a grant. It's just how it works. We can sit around and pat ourselves on the back because we pay public servants relatively little for their work, but with that much money in their control they amazingly all become wealthy.

But if you want to fight this Donald Trump is probably not the best pick. Neither is Joe Biden.

Oh, totally agree. And Hunter Biden is sort of the poster boy for a ne'er-do-well dilettante political baby running around doing penny-ante grift with his hand out, making money off his father's name.

Don't like it. Don't like the guy. No use for him, hope he gets his life together, blah, blah. Don't let the kid have a security clearance and do not let him within a mile of the White House.

There's a whole lot of reforms that need to happen in regards to election reform and transparency and Joe Biden, the insider's insider, is going to resist them every step of the way while trying to pay empty lip service to "cleaning out the system" while trying to go back to business as usual.

His feet need to be held to the fire. I think they will be, though, in ways he probably doesn't expect. One of the side effects of all this wokeness that's going on is people are going to be paying a lot more attention to Joe than he's used to; doing "Business as Usual" is probably not going to be an option for awhile. And if he forgets that a solid non-Trumpy GOP candidate will absolutely skunk him in 2024 because if you're running as a reformist you'd durn well better reform some stuff.

Fox was pretty much the only network right about the Russia hoax while your friends screamed “bombshell” 100 times a day for 3.5 years. Then your party impeached Trump for quid pro quo, you know, the thing Biden is on tape....as the definition of.

A great quote from Newt,”if the Dems are accusing you of something, they are in fact doing what they are accusing you of “.

Examples: Trump colluded with Russia. Real story, Clinton paid for a Russian dossier used to spy on Americans.

Trump asked for quid pro quo. Biden, you’re not getting the billion dollars unless you fire the prosecutor (that’s investigating my son).

Fox was not right. There was no “Russia hoax”. It was real. Read the Mueller report. Trump was guilty, but Barr decided a sitting president cannot be charged with a crime. You have been conned.

Trump was almost certainly guilty of obstruction per Mueller. Bill Barr saved Trump's bacon on that one.

Mueller did not find sufficient evidence to conclude Trump's involvement constituted criminal conspiracy with Russia in regards to defrauding an American election...though Mueller did lay out a pretty detailed and troubling case of how extensively Russia did interfere in the election, how it benefitted Trump...and just how many people from Trump's camp were involved in convictable criminal offenses in relation to the investigation. Both Trump's personal lawyer Michael Cohen and his former campaign manager Paul Manafort ended up doing time in regards to criminal charges resulting from the probe...so calling it a "hoax" is completely untrue.

If there was a link between Trump and Russia - which many people still very much believe - it was seemingly financial, not political...which is still very much under investigation, as numerous court cases that have made their way all the way up to the Supreme Court have shown.

So no, Fox was not remotely "right" about the "Russia hoax", mostly because anybody outside the Fox Bubble knows it wasn't remotely either a "hoax" or "witch hunt" and the fact that they have so many people echoing that demonstrable wrongheadedness only confirms it.

Also, Newt Gingrich got run out of Congress by his own party, and for a lot of very good reasons.

Let me explain this to you since you are obviously too stupid to follow along.

- Hillary Clinton paid fusion GPS to dig up dirt on Trump
- fusion GOS hires christopher Steele to head the dirt digging operation.
- Steele came up with the Steele dossier which is what started the investigation against trump.
- Since then, everything in the Steele dossier has been proven false.
- Steele’s subsource for the info in the dossier was an alleged Russian agent that has been under investigation by the FBI.

So basically the democrats colluded with a Russian to drum up fake accusations that trump was compromised by Russia.

It is not partisan to see the sham that took place in the Russia investigation. It’s absurd that idiots like you still believe it.

MT,

Actually, a significant GOP donor, Paul Singer, contracted with Fusion to investigate Trump during the primary season - the Steele dossier was part of that research. When Trump won the nomination, Singer ended the research. Clinton later bought that research from Fusion.

https://www.newyorker.com/news/our-columnists/the-inside-story-of-christopher-steeles-trump-dossier

Everything in the Steele dossier has NOT been proven false (except in Fox World). The Steele dossier was raw (1st step) intelligence. Some of the details have been proven false, but much of the general gist was on target.

https://www.lawfareblog.com/steele-dossier-retrospective

The entire intelligence community has concluded that Russia interfered in the 2016 election - to favor Trump. Do you really expect Steele (anyone) to uncover info about that WITHOUT talking to Russians ?? And do you really think that some of the Trump team would NOT have been interested in steering to interference to their best advantage ? That last is speculative I admit, but hardly beyond the realm of possibility.

So before you start calling us stupid and setting yourself up to schools us, you might want to double check your "facts" in case you are to stupid to separate reality from propaganda.

Their CEO, Patrick Steel, served in the Clinton White House.

The head janitor that sweeps the floor every evening was once heard muttering "I sure do hate Trump".

What does this all mean? I don't know....it just seems to be the new way of discrediting any and all media sources on T-net.

Nonsense: Foxies never actually specify what that "corruption" is exactly...

Wrong: corruption is clear. The corruption is $ from China to a sitting VP. The corruption is paying for access to the VP. The entire HB-china deal exists only to enable corruption. Ditto for Ukraine. HB does not deny any of the facts that have been reported - that he indeed got $ from Ukraine and China. What do you not get?

And, I'll tell you what is not defined - russian and iranian interference into the election? What the heck does INTERFERENCE mean? They have voter lists? What does that mean? I have voter lists too because you can get them online. It's asinine to think the Iranians would "interfere" on behalf of Trump, right? Obama/Biden sent billions in cash to them. Trump dumped the Iran deal.

Please inform us all specifically what is meant by "election interference" because dems say it but no one knows what it is.

Nonsense: never provide evidence...every single time, when it comes time to examine the phones, E-mails, or evidence itself, it's always strangely "unavailable" and they're about to deliver that evidence to the "proper authorities."

Again, huh? How about Peter Strzok and the FBI attorney slut's texts? That's evidence. How about HRC's emails - that's undisputed evidence. AG Lynch meeting Clinton on tarmac - undisputed event - it is evidence of foul play. HRC's emails uncovered lots of chit with zero denials once they came out because it was proof. How about people testifying in person as to what happened, backed up by emails and texts? How is that not evidence?

There's NO EVIDENCE of the rationale for Trump's impeachment. Three years and 10s of millions and 1000s of man-hours of invesigations and nothing. The Dossier was/is fake evidence. Made-fcking-up out of thing air.

Nonsense: president and his children not only have a Chinese bank account but made verified millions in payola from the Chinese while in office...but nevermind that too. Next subject already.

Practice what you preach. Show evidence that Trump has bank accounts in China that were not created for his business before he was a presidential candidate. You cannot because it does not exist. Also, how did this issue of Trump's Chinese bank accounts ALL OF A SUDDEN become important once it was revealed that HB is funneling Chinese $ to the big guy. What a fcking joke you people are.
