LOL. #1, the c had to make a nice play to make the stop. #2 he has to give the runner a lane. IMO, the C did a nice job to make it close

Was it aggressive base running or did the hitter miss the squeeze sign?
Not only do we not play smart baseball, but Monte failed to coach smart baseball tonight too.
Top of 9, up by one, you must have your best defensive unit in the field. That includes Teodosio in center (assuming he wasn’t hurt) and Byrd beside you in the dugout. Byrd didn’t cost us. Teodosio probably makes the play in center with his range.
The Duke hitter who hit the fifth consecutive curve ball to the opposite field to score the tying run (2-2 count) should have seen a fastball to get him off rhythm.
Second guessing is what all losing fans and coaches do . . . Hopefully we learn to make better decisions by our mistakes.
