Nice research! Those bowl losses stick out the most to me? Wish we could have come up on the other side? Like our chances to win back some more on that list.

I edited the original post to add the date and scores. 7 of those 19 loses occurred 30-85 years ago.

Seems impossible that we have not played Florida since 1961. How does two southeast teams that share so many common opponents not play in a bowl game or something for that long.

None are on our regular season schedule. How can we strike 2-3 from the list this year?
Best chance for any is Bama, unless we severely underperform and face another SEC school in postseason. (Very little chance any of these SEC or B1G or Pac schools overachieve and make the CFP.) Unless I'm missing something

We play Syracuse every year. The other 2 could be Georgia and Alabama in the playoffs.

Thanks for the explanation. Sorry for the blip. Momentarily thought of Cuse in the other division.
I don't think of the others as strong contenders--think the Committee will not go 2 SEC schools 2 years in a row. But I understand your point.

Doesn't have to be USC, we could face Alabama AND Georgia in the CFP (like last year).
If we were to knock off 4 this season, we should take next off from the ACC and schedule the other 15.

We were robbed by Ron Cherry’s grandfather in that game, phantom holding call. Neely gave him the business about it. Joe21 and LBB remember it well.
