Venables game-plan was to take away the midlle of the

field, expecting our CB's to be able to cover on islands outside the hashmarks.

We could not do it last night. Terrell had a bad games and Kendrick wasn't much better.

I truly believe that if Turner had made the INT then the game would have turned out differently; but woulda', coulda' shoulda', games like that are often made by one play that is made or not.

LSU wanted it more and adjusted better on the offensive side and Burrow was making the throws that Trevor made last year.

Tip of the hat to LSU.

If he hadn’t of tried to protect the center of the field they would have gashed it worse than they did. It was kind of a pick your poison. Brent’s game plan would have worked perfectly if we could have gotten more pressure from our DLine. Maybe next year because we have some beasts coming in.

Yep, I think in order to take away that underneath stuff he had to sacrifice the corners on islands and Joe came through. I'll accept it and understand it, but doesn't mean I have to like it.

Yup. We got out-athleted last night. That hasn't happened to

us often in the last few years. But, since we took away Jawjas Recruiting National Championship this year, help is most certainly on the way. :)

Our offense was the bigger problem by far.***

Yes, couldn’t accurately pass the ball and when it was couldn’t catch it. Recipe for a loss

Our offense wasn't the reasons our DBs were getting burned in the 2nd quarter.

When an offense controls the ball, it takes pressure

off of the defense. Had our offense done its job, the defense would have held up better. The 1st quarter defense gave us a chance to go up on them by 20.

We ran 40 plays in the first half and put up almost 300 yards. The offense did fine in the first half, but #8 played his worse game of his career.

That was no doubt the game plan. We absolutely took away all

Jan 14, 2020, 9:26 AM

the underneath and dared them to beat us 1 on 1 on tough passes. Give all the credit to Burrow. He absolutely threw dimes and their receivers were just more physical than our CB’s. That was difference in game IMO.

biggest problem was when he put the dime back in a rover

Look on a 4 back nickel set, and ultimately we couldn’t jam into pressure leaving a lot of islands in a man free look.
