Wal Mart in Spartanburg.
Jul 28, 2020, 12:52 PM

I just happened to be in the area for work yesterday and went to the Wal-Mart on Blackstock Rd. They only have 1 set of entrance/exit doors open and are funneling lines going in and lines going out through the same 2 doors 3 feet apart.vSo you can get inoculated right there going in....you don't even have to go in the store. lol
What sort of "science" is that following? I guess as long as it "looks" like they are doing something, that will be okay with many.
I left.

Ours has done the same thing, and I had the same thought as you at first. My guess is they did it to make it easier to track how many people are entering, and to keep cleaning supplies stocked on that side of the store. I've only seen my Wal Mart reach the limit for capacity once since all of this started which resulted in a line outside of the store. I'd imagine that it's much more difficult to control how many enter if they have their normal 2 entrances(3 counting the garden entrance) open.

At least they have the little squares every 6 feet to stand on AFTER you have caught the virus on the way in. Dang, we are so stupid....All hail Wal Mart.

Walmart does not cram people together, they do that to themselves.

The idea is to form a single file line into the store and keep count, if people cram together that is their own stupidity. A simple google search could have cleared this up for the OP.

Exactly. They only need to man one side to wipe down carts, count people and make sure they are wearing masks. Makes sense to me. I have been in several supermarket chains like Publix and Harris Teeter lately where they have one entrance and one turned into exit only.

I felt like a real idiot the other day when I parked near the pharmacy entrance and had to walk half a mile to the main entrance.

I literally walked past him on Saturday when I stopped in to get some shorts, he was also checking masks.
and per Walmart's website, "Starting Saturday, we will limit the number of customers who can be in a store at once. Stores will now allow no more than five customers for each 1,000 square feet at a given time, roughly 20 percent of a store’s capacity."

Right, that's what originally hit me when I saw the entrance

closed. And trust me, it was not a socially distanced line going in or coming out as advertised in the pictures on their site..... It looked more like a line at Disney World.
I sort of get what they are trying to do, but it's going to have to be up to the customers to socially distance...that's why I rode through and kept going.
Not at all saying all walmarts are this way...but what I saw yesterday was hilarious.

Our local Wally-World also has only one door going in and out.The other side by the pharmacy is emergency exit only. Also ,while they have a hand sanitizing station, half the time it's empty and the wipes are bone dry. Mask are optional,I'd say 60/40 wearing vs not wearing. Also aisles are one way,but if I were a cop I'd make a fortune on tickets for people who either don't care,or can't read a one way green sign.Ah,the life and times of Covid-19.

It's that way at almost all WallMarts, Grocery stores, etc that I have been to.
Our illustrious governor has impose capacity limits on all stores. Multiple entries and exits makes id difficult to keep an accurate count to meet the restrictions, thus a single entry/exit.

Apparently procreating is the primary recreational activity up there.
In a span of about five minutes, I saw at least a dozen women (likely age 25 and younger) who were pregnant with a least two other kids in tow.
Either that or it was expectant mother discount day at Wally World.
