You can only cover a man for so long before he gets open. Our DB's can get better if we can provide a serious pass rush. Force QB's to throw under pressure and our DB's can be solid.

BV needs to put Townsend in for that

Lateek is our best pass rusher in the LB position BV needs to play him more and stop being so vanilla on his play calling I swear its like we was playing zone all game. Only player I seen blitzing was christian and he wasnt doing #### !!!

I noticed alot of stunts and twists and several corner blitzes. Not sure thats vanilla, but when the front four dont get that penetration its tough on the back 7

Is on the 3rd down plays BV had them in zone on just about every 3rd down, and the corners was blitzing but it wasnt effective..

I have never seen a defense as bad as ours, we have not progressed one thing since the OB, I realize Venables has only been through a Spring/Summer so it is not all him, he inherited this. The but in that is that we were a total meltdown in every single phase of defense.

How do you let a one yard hitch pass go for 11-12 yds?
How do you let a little league style QB sweep go for 35 yds?
How does every back on FSU's team look like All-Americans breaking tackles and carrying our players into the end zone?

Here is the tough part; we are not very good when every player on our team gets blocked play after play at the line of scrimmage, LB's and DB's. It is ashame because we have a Top 5 Offense and our OL's done a solid job and can hold their own. We just are not very good on defense and it is obvious that our young players are not ready to start and play on this stage. The problem is that we do have some veterans that are just as lost and completely blockable.

I love my TIGERS and believe hard work can help but this group is a project to say the least!
