Ohio state and Michigan won't play for conference title

Nov 14, 2016, 10:43 AM

If Penn State wins out.. are we certain either of them make it in? Does a 2 loss Penn State big ten champion and 1 of them? If so, no way Louisville does if we win out. We need to start rooting for Penn State.

If Michigan wins out they will.

If OSU wins out, they need either Rutgers or Michigan State to beat Penn State, which is unlikely to happen. OSU doesn't control their Destiny,Bama,Clemson,Michigan and even Washington still do.

If that happens, it'll be

1. Bama
2. Clemson
3. ? Penn state? Have to if they take another
4. ? Michigan/Ohio state
5/6. Louisville

Apologies. I messed up. If penn state gets to title means osu beat Michigan.

So thatd leave penn state and osu with Michigan out.

Penn State isn't going to make the playoffs

A penn state champion with a win over OSU doesn't make it over OSU if they beat Michigan?? Why not?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

A one loss Penn State would, but a two loss Penn State

Nov 14, 2016, 11:01 AM

does not. Neither will a 2 loss Florida team make the playoffs if they beat Alabama in the SEC championship game.

Just an opinion, Wisconsin might,PS won't

Nov 14, 2016, 10:54 AM [ in reply to Penn State isn't going to make the playoffs ]

.As stated above, a PS/W B1G match up could let the BIG12 sneak back in.

Just a question.

Nov 14, 2016, 10:52 AM [ in reply to Re: Ohio state and Michigan won't play for conference title ]

Wouldn't a 2 loss B1G Champ(even a 2 loss PAC 12 Champ) open the door back up for the BIG12 conference champ? I know it's a tired November story, but, if Oklahoma wins out they would be 10-2,playing and beating everyone in their conference, something the B1G Champ nor the PAC 12 Champ ,or any other Division runner up could lay claim to.
