in that game throughout. I'm sure they've been at each other on social media trying to get in his head this past week and you could tell Trevor had a little extra juice from start to finish in this game. After the miami players saw that they didn't have a chance they resorted to bush league, headhunters instead of football players. Thats when you know you're dealing with a loser when they got nothing except trying to hurt you instead of having respect for you because you're better than them. Alabama tried that crap with Deshaun in the 2016 Championship game. Their goal was to try and take him out with cheap shots instead of seeing if they can beat him. Guess they knew the answer. And i lost respect for them that night.
JUST PLAY THE GAME AND IF YOU'RE BETTER THAN CLEMSON THEN YOU WON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!

I agree. Miami was playing dirty for sure. I wish he had drop back to pass and sent that player that hit him helmet to helmet a bullet between his legs. I doubt Dabo would allow that but that was what need to be done.

Well timed & deserved . . . . but if you're gonna get the 15 - make it COUNT ! ! ! !
Dabo needs to have them practicing this so it carries more emphasis when we pull it out again.

My wife made a comment about Trevor talking so much more than normal after plays.
My opinion is that when you know you are being targeted it takes you to a little more aggressive place and that was one of the things it brought out in him.
I feel that he knew they were going after him from the first series and longer it went on, he just kept feeding off of it.
I believe it has been since Bama vs Deshaun that we have seen a team so clearly intent on trying to deliver knock-out blows to one of our players.

Yeah, I agree. But don't forget about 0310 last year. Cryin' Ryan told his players before the game to get "Violent", and they tried to kill our guys, including Trevor. #GoTigers

Trevor has a similar response with his play in the Ohio St game but he did not get quite as vocal with the OSU players.
He took the one big shot before his long run, but I don't remember it being obvious the entire game that OSU was taking cheap shots at him. Slightly different feel during the Miami game IMO.
Also, I think he has a genuine respect for the OSU players/program that he doesn't have for the Miami players/program.

I said something like "Miami just made the worst mistake they possibly could have made. They made Trevor Lawrence mad. That's the fastest way to lose a game. He's going to make a point to absolutely embarrass them the rest of the night." Which, naturally, he did.

We were legitimately hurrying to punch it in. In most case we take a knee.
Note to Manny and Miami - don’t get on Dabo’s bad side.

Spot on, normally Dabo has them take a knee. However, they ran the ball up the middle. Stop us if you can, shut your trap and look at the scoreboard.

That was on the guys that know that they won't see the field much throughout the season, and they were excited after driving the ball down that close to the goal line, and they wanted to score, I'm not going to fault them for that, and any adult that would, they are childish!!!

I get that it's the rule, but that's one of the stupidest rules in NCAA football. Spiking the ball wasn't a penalty in the NFL even BEFORE the league relaxed its stick-up-the-rear stance on celebrations. The old men in suits at NCAA HQ need to visit Robert Craft's masseuse or something and let these kids have some fun.

Etienne pretty obviously spiked to football in the end zone at the end of the OSU game. Thank goodness the refs did not flag him.

It was a mini spike, and it was bc the Miami dude was still trying to throw Trevor down even after he had scored!!! Trevor done a mini spike and talk a little crap!!! OH WELL, they are young gladiator like athletes playing college FB that the "OLD Men" suits are doing all they can to take the fun out of the game for the ones playing it. But it's OK for professional FB players to do what these kids/young men are being told that it's against the rules!!!
I've long ago said that Old Men shouldn't be making the rules for young men to play sports by, and I say this as being an Old Man myself, I'm 68, and what I feel would be right for men my age, surely wouldn't be right for young men 18-30 years old!!!

I agree. I didn't mind the penalty at all. In fact, something like that from Trevor or Etienne will serve to get the rest of the team in a "good frenzy"! Miami had better be glad it was later in the ball game or they would have received a worse whipping.

I think this was a very good thing for this Clemson team, and mostly Trevor himself. this is the kind of tactics that will be used against him in the playoffs. Miami just helped Clemson in my eyes. I have never questioned the toughness of any Clemson player, but it's good to get that edge sharpened during the regular season because it's all out warfare come playoff time. The Bama and OSU have always been known for this as well.
