They had to stop a two-point conversion against a weaker opponent to win the game. They can't possibly have any chance to reach the playoffs.

No , that's if they were in the ACC .
They're old blue-blood status ... which means that the win was a gutty determined effort by some kids who refuse to lose and therefore should be given a shot at the Top 4 .
