OT...Charleston Fishing Charter thoughts.....

May 17, 2020, 7:33 PM

Will be in Charlestin area next month. Looking for charter ideas for a group of 4. Do not want to go to the Gulf Stream but possibly a near shore reef. Thanks in advance.

Go to captainrichard.com. Been out with him several times any where from the smallest creeks to 35 miles out on off shore reefs and live bottom.

Super nice guy, creative when bite is slow, and enjoys you having a good time.

This guy is the best: http://www.charlestonflyfishingguide.com/

LOL... Ethan is a friend and cool to drink with, but I personally wouldn't use him as a guide.

We used him. He was awesome. We had a great time. That was a few years ago though.
I would hire him again if I needed another guided charter. Cool guy at the time and we killed it. Sounds like you know him. I don't know him personally as you do. Seemed cool to me. Had a good time. That was a fun day.

Ethan is a fun guy to go out in the boat with, but if you are really serious about fishing, then I'd chose someone else. Otherwise, Ethan is fine.

I am not serious at all about fishing, although I grew up constantly fishing with family. My brother is though and that's what he has been doing for a living for 30 years. He is California guy out of San Diego though and resides there. I am from California originally too obviously. He thought it was all great day too. Must have been a good day for Ethan, because it all went well. Then again, we are know experts on Charleston fishing. We actually knew nothing. It was fun though. It was a great day.

We went out with Therapy Fishing a couple years ago. The guy knew his stuff and we caught a lot of fish. His reviews are outstanding. Maybe we just caught him on a bad personal day. He was hungover, irritable, and acted like he hated his job. It would have been a lot of fun with a different “captain”.

Sounds like he needs to be got on the right day and he is hit or miss. Sorry I recommended him. He was recommended to us at bar on Folly. I got him on a good day I guess. He was having a good time as were we. Maybe he had a good nights rest when we got him. Anyway, sounds like my recommendation is too risky. Thanks for posting that.

Carlsbad I think we are talking about 2 different guys. I wanted to clarify because Ethan was not our guide.
