OK CU athletics historians

Oct 3, 2013, 7:54 PM

Watching Texas made me think if Rick Barnes. Then I began to wonder: in the big 3 sports, how many times has a CU head coach bolted for another job? Im omitting Cliff Ellis. His time here had run out.

I have Pell, Maravich, Barnes, Purnell. Any others?

Jess Neely won the Cotton Bowl and then went to coach at Rice for the next 27 years

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Probably good thing he did....

Oct 3, 2013, 9:05 PM

Tigers would probably still be playing on Riggs Field...Frank Howard would not have become coach...there'd be no Death Valley, no hill, and no rock to rub! Good things happen for a reason! :)

Frank never left

He had an office with the title of "legend" on the door until he died.
