depends on if his desire to get a reasonable shot at a championship before he retires is legit or not. how does he really want to be remembered ? winning at the least another conference championship, or a winning record against clemson?(maybe,even that depends on how long he stays)

I don't give a flip about being in the SEC. The ACC is doing pretty well on its own, thank you. And, we aren't the red-headed stepchild in our conference.
And, yes, Florida has a much better chance of putting together a team to win the NC than SCar does.

OBC has achieved NOTHING at SCar. NO Championships. NO BCS bowls. The only reason he's achieved a bunch of school "firsts" is because your crappy little school has ALWAYS been in the cellar and the only way to go was up. Your tired old, drunkard of a coach will leave soon and he'll leave without achieving ANYTHING that he achieved in Florida. spurlid had been at usuc for several years when he won the 7 games. The 6 win season was Dabo's first. If you don't like Dabo, that's okay, but I wouldn't trade Dabo for a dozen spurriers. We don't need a jerk like him in our program. You can keep him.

Clemson made it's first appearance in the ACC title game that year. The second year he won 6 and was in trouble. He started the following season 8-0 and there wasn't much talk of firing him since then.

Sadly, there are some on here who look for ways to tear Dabo and the program down while propping spurlid and the historically poor coots up. That works okay when talking to coot fans, but here that dog just won't hunt. While all Clemson fans want more wins, especially against the historic under achievers in cootlumbia, I never would sacrifice my own morals to prop up a program like theirs nor a set of coaches like spurlid and his little minions.

but they pi$$ed him off when they told him if he was interested in returning after his debacle with the Washington Redskins, he would have to interview for the position like everyone else.
While Spurrier is thought to hold a deep loyalty for his alma mater, most of the Florida administration and fans were very unhappy with his decision in 2002 to abruptly resign like he did particularly considering that he was announced as the next head coach for the Washington Redskins just ten days later.
His five-year $25 million contract with the Redskins was the most lucrative coaching contract in the history of the NFL at the time and it was clearly something he was working on under the table while still at Florida.
