This is the best scenario for us in Basketball

Remove all questions and concerns regarding our fortunes or misfortunes in Basketball. We need only reflect back to the Tommy Bowden years and remember the rare but exciting top quality wins verses “the big boys” then factor in the many unexplainable losses to less than stellar programs. This is our lot for better or worse, in basketball. Honestly, it’s too tipsy-turvy year in and year out. Just when there’s a reason to feel excited BOOM! a flop. So, I’m going to be excited when I read the scores when we win and just accept our fate and endure the inevitablitynof unfathomable losses. Both my anxiety level and ulcers don’t need to pay too close attention to see which team actually shows up on any given night. No hating on Coaches, team, administrations because this is who we are as a program. It’s just the way it has been, the way it is now and The way it will continue to be and there’s little that can fix it. The fun is in the winning, so, I’ll celebrate the wins and ignore the losses.m

of making us a "successful" program. You are starting to see what all the other Brownell supporters are.

Not quite this I just yelling “uncle” regarding our program. Expect little and you’re never disappointed.

expect little? I'm not going to do that. If I did, my son

would not be where he is at today. I expect him to continue with his school, his grades and his character as a growing young man. The world would still be walking around living in a cave, dragging a club if we didn't want to do more.

Only losers in life do that. As my financial advisor keeps telling me "Past results are not indicative of the future." Clemson can be good in basketball if the Administration would make the effort.

I understand your overall point, but are we really calling a road loss to a team that already beat us at home "unfathomable".
Sure it was a game we should have been able to win.
Sure our rpi and NET and whatever else were better than theirs.
Sure they had lost 9 out of 10 games entering.
I'm not sure that I could look at any game on any schedule and call a loss unfathomable based on my understanding of our basketball team, but I certainly wouldn't call losing to a team that already beat us an "unfathomable loss".
Just my two cents.

I think the problem many have here is that year 10 looks a lot like years 3 through 7. I don’t discredit the effort given by Brownell and the program, I do question their ability to recognize HOW to improve. Whether through recruiting, coaching etc, etc. The baseline is .500 ball after 10 years in. I don’t care how it’s done , it’s still .500 ball. Supporters always seem to have an excuse as to why but after 10 years, the reasons just seem a little hollow.
Personally, I lowered my expectations long ago and am not really bothered by it either way.

Since you never coached a team, let me clue you in. You can coach consistency. There will always be an abnormality. But the entire season cannot be an abnormality. That is what Brad has been giving us. That is coaching.

Any road win in the ACC is a 50-50 shot, at best, for our team. Now if our recruiting continues to improve we may actually start "expecting" to win.

I should add that even that is not a given; just ask Louisville, Duke and FSU.
