I would go drive it. Parts are easy and the resell if you get it up to par would be amazing.

Also I would buy it and then put in a nice CD player and a 6 disc changer on the pad in the back and an old Rockford Fosgate bass tube. Oh boy. What a find.

What car at that age isn’t? I would plan to put $5k into and then stop and enjoy it.
That’s what I did with my FJ. I put about $8k into it to keep it off the rollback every weekend. I am done. Next thing I do is sell it in May 2021.

And I like it. Thanks for your insight. Was hoping you'd chime in.
There are ways to do the heater core without ripping apart the dashboard, but it's still a PIA.

as a money maker. They are toys and fun and why you work hard. I love driving. I drive mine about 2-3 times a week. Tonight the family drove it to dinner and the kids love it and people like seeing it and looking at it. It’s fun for everyone.
Hopefully after all is said and done, I might “make” $5k once I sell it but the longer I have it and as cheap as storage rates are, I can see me getting a 1995-96 ish Mustang and storage them both and play until my heart is content.

It would be a toy and a little wish fulfillment. My friend advised me not to sink my money in a depreciating asset and I was like, how much more could it depreciate?

As you can tell, I am not a good infuence on buying cars. I will buy just about anything and have fun and move on.
Not taking about prostitutes. Just cars.

I spend a lot of time on my autotrader app just playing around. The other day I was looking at the Ferrari Mondial T, which I am in no position to purchase. And I always keep my eye on the Z32, but when I saw this one I was like, wait. Hang on. I might be able to make this work.
If it doesn't work out, I'll live.
