Now that Dylan Thompson is questionable,

Sep 30, 2014, 11:03 PM

I went on a fact finding mission about their backup QB Conner Mitch.

Here's what I found out in my short search:

A. Conner Mitch is not ready.

B. Conner Mitch may actually not be the backup but rather a walk on may have beaten him out for the job.

C. Spurrier is not impressed with Conner Mitch.

D. My questions on why we haven't seen another QB other than Thompson have been answered.

E. They may really be screwed if Dylan Thompson is a no go. We're talking massacre in Lexington.

F. Coots are panicking because they feel they have missed on all of their QBs.

G. Connor Shaw was their best QB ever.

That's my report as of now.

Probably working on their wildcat package as we speak.

Shaq played only his sophomore year at QB and he ran the veer.

I say they line up in

Double TE's and run the ball, play field position and hope their D can hold them to 17 or less, if not they get beat.

If they lose to UK the wheels could come off with a 4th loss coming at Auburn. They would then lose to Tennessee and Clemson and need a win at UF to have a winning season.

..I'd have to agree that Conner Shaw was best they ever had at that place. Teenyhill was 2nd best, but couldn't run it like Shaw and he had more hair....

Thompson will play the entire game I believe. I think OBS said his injury was minor. However, I agree it would be interesting to see their backup. No snaps so far this season.

You're right about Connor Mitch - not really that great.
I think they are saving him for the Clemson game.
Backup QBs seem to have great success against the Tigers.

Dylan Thompson may have been the backup if Tanner McEvoy had not transferred. McEvoy is starting for Wisconsin now and doing a pretty good job.

This may explain why Slurrier

was so positive about Kentucky at his press conference. Plus, "Clowney's got a bruised shoulder."

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Dylan Thompson is absolutely going to play....

Oct 1, 2014, 8:25 AM

even if Spurrier has to roll him out there in a wheelchair. It's not like they have any other choice. All of the back-ups have exactly ZERO experience.

They think DW is an average QB.

Oct 1, 2014, 9:07 AM

I'm sure they believe one of their backups could at least be average, like DW. Because you know...

Hasn't Thompson always been questionable ? Otis yanked him enough over the last two seasons that anyone paying attention could tell that Spurlid often questioned his abilities.

I thought the same thing would happen this year. I mean Spurcock would pull Connor Shaw out of games for crying out loud. The fact that Spurcock has NOT pulled Dylan yet is very telling about their QB depth.
