Man--didn't realize how big that play was...I forgot about the special 3 point play rule just for ND in the last 2 minutes of the 4th quarter...
At the time, i thought we were trying to stop them from tying.
Or, maybe Kelly is talking about his boneheaded decision to go for 2 so early in the 4th quarter, because they couldve been kicking for the tie or go for 2 for the win at the end...maybe that's the 'play' he's talking about?

it equals overtime in this situation, which i suspect kelly felt good about winning and i don't blame him.
just spit balling of course, but it seems most of the angst surrounding his comment is derived from or created by agreement or worry of the outcome had they made that one play?
again, it doesn't bother me when coaches say these things, they do so a good bit, just as dabo has, it's interesting how much uneasiness kelly has created here when he's done so?

out at DV. If Artavis brings in that diving TD, it is 28-3 Tigers and game over. So sick of hearing the weather was bad, ND was better team, but..., etc. ########. Both teams played in the same weather. He was also one play away from losing to UVA. Knife cuts both ways Mr. Kelly.

Lat night they did it again, but had they kicked the extra point earlier they could have gone for the 2pt conversion after their final TD with 30 seconds left. If successful that would have guaranteed OT. Similar to our game he went for 2 too early in the game.
