look back and smile at the fond memories. He would get us out of school early the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. We'd kill a hog or two and spend all day making sausage, pork chops and souse meat, YUK!!!! Today's kids will mostly likely experience what we did growing up.

My only problem with the whole thing was I was the one that was handed the 'Ball jar' lid and had to scrape that nasty beast. Brains & Eggs didn't smell so good but they tasted great.

Great memories like this keeps him alive through you. I know you’re doing the same with MyFO Jr!

We too, did the same when I was a boy. Boy how I hated slopping hogs before school. It always sloshed onto my pants, so I would have to change them. Never learned to wear my ‘play clothes’ when doing it, thinking THIS time my scrawny 60 pound body WOULD handle that 5 gal bucket....sigh.

My favorite was (is) pork chops. Never as many of those as there was sausage.
