Not your dad's marijuana

http://www.foxnews.com/health/2017/02/27/pediatricians-warn-against-pot-use-not-your-dads-marijuana.html
CHICAGO – An influential doctors group is beefing up warnings about marijuana's potential harms for teens amid increasingly lax laws and attitudes on pot use.
Many parents use the drug and think it's OK for their kids, but "we would rather not mess around with the developing brain," said Dr. Seth Ammerman.
The advice comes in a new report from the American Academy of Pediatrics, published Monday in Pediatrics.
The brain continues to develop until the early 20s, raising concerns about the potential short- and long-term effects of a mind-altering drug. Some studies suggest that teens who use marijuana at least 10 times a month develop changes in brain regions affecting memory and the ability to plan. Some changes may be permanent, the report says.
Frequent use starting in the early teen years may lower IQ scores, and some studies have shown that starting marijuana use at a young age is more likely to lead to addiction than starting in adulthood.
Government data show that almost 40 percent of U.S. high school students have tried marijuana, about 20 percent are current users and close to 10 percent first tried it before age 13. Use has increased in recent years among those aged 18 and older but not among young teens. Still, kids aged 12-17 increasingly think that marijuana use is not harmful.
Dr. Sheryl Ryan, a Yale University pediatrics professor and lead author of the academy report, said marijuana "is the drug of choice" for many of her teen patients in New Haven, Connecticut. Some think daily use is safe, noting that their parents or grandparents smoked pot in college and turned out OK. But today's marijuana is much more potent and potentially more risky, Ryan said.

Yes cdef, we are well are that jeff sessions is going to ramp up enforcement of federal pot prohibition. It is very nice of fox to get the ball rolling with the same tired propoganda that has repeatedly been proven wrong by the medical community at large. And of course, showing us the blatant hypocrisy the gop demonstrates by cherry picking which states rights issues they want to promote.
But dont let that stop you from jumping on the band wagon captain no fun.

can get it with as little or as much potency as you like. Just like alcohol.
I always liked it in the mid range. Some of that stuff really is too potent, for me at least.

And up to about a few months ago I had never even seen it or seen people using it. I knew the smell though.
I am waiting until it is truly legal and will probably try some edibles.

So for the people who argue that marijuana shouldn't be legal because it's not as safe as it's made out to be....
Why are you not advocating for the prohibition of alcohol and tobacco which we know for a fact are much, much worse for you than weed?

Legal drugs like opioids, benzos and alcohol.
The rate of addiction is minimal.
Only 2/3 can KILL you from withdrawal alone (alcohol and benzos)
And the best part, they are legal!

I had red and goldbud columbian pot, Tai sticks, Vietnam slam, Alaskan blueduck, Hawaii Maui and the best of the best. The best was grown on the Eastside of the Cumberland Plateau between Whitwell and Griffin Creek.
I don't think there's anything sinful about smoking pot. I quit because I felt guilty before God. I know that's confusing but maybe it's just wrong for me because I feel guilty about being high. I don't condemn anyone for toking if the aren't convicted. It's not my job.

What the heck does a bottle of wine do to me on Friday night.
Arguments against marijuana can be said about alcohol also. I know so many people who smoke that crap for various reasons. The costs of keeping it illegal outweighs the cost of legalizing it.
