CU Has Top Record For Getting Other Coaches Fired - Coots, Not So Much

It's never nice when a coach gets fired, like right after he plays your team; but even if it's an indirect result - CU gets top billing.

In the 1978 Gator Bowl, Tigers' LB Charlie Bauman picked off an OHST pass near the Buckeye's sideline to seal CU's win. The legendary Woody Hayes then slugged Bauman in the throat & was fired the next day.

Last Saturday, before a crowd of 56 people at Brice, the Coots drubbed the Akron Zipps, and the next day HC Terry Bowden got canned. It's possible Bowden might have kept the job by beating SC - maybe or maybe not.

Anyway - Tigers will "see" your Terry Bowden & raise you a WOODY HAYES!

indictment of suckiness that losing to SCar represents. Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas even - they've all fired coaches (multiple?) following seasons losing to SCar. I mean, when you've sunk that low, it definitely represents time for change.

Good points Lou - but did those coaches get the ax IMMEDIATELY after playing SC? Also - were they good coaches or Jim Mcelwains? Were any of them legendary icons like WOODY?

Although he didn't get fired.

Also, Spurrier quit mid-season to avoid the same fate; his team still lost to us.
