Watching 30 for 30 about Coach Cal and those two have a lot of similar qualities. His Umass time is a lot like Dabo at CU. except Dabo got a title at CU and Cal didn't at UMass.

It's not in the true sense of cheating to get a player. He had that UMass program at the top with one NBA guy and a bunch of mid-major guys.
Camby was already there and took money behind everyone's back from an agent prior to his junior year....not as an enticement to come play at UMass. There is a VERY big difference. Calipari didn't even give him the money...it was all on Camby.
To say he cheated at UMass is completely unfair. Now at Memphis, that's a different. It's pretty much understood Rose fudged his SAT to get into college, with or without proof.
Just a hypothetical, but imagine some agent gave Watsons family some money last summer to make ends meet in return for his services 6 months later...all behind Dabos back and the NCAA decided to strip yhe 2016 from the books.....would that make Dabo a cheater? There is an obvious answer there and the same applies to Cal at UMass.

There are similarities in that both didn't care to be different and forge a path to make a name for themselves. Both state player first guys who really hold their guys accountable for life's future endeavors. Both also don't take any crap from the media and challenge the stupidity of some at times. And both are recruiting machines.
