Clemson Battlebot

I know we’re just weeks away from football and maybe this has already been shared. But tomorrow night on Discovery Channel them team from Clemson will be competing on BattleBots. The bot is called P1 and it’s 250 lb orange robot with a front flipper and a big white Tiger paw on top.
If you’ve never seen BattleBots it’s pretty entertaining. Watching guys build these $20-30,000 machines and then try to destroy them is cool. And it sure beats the other stuff that’s on this time of year.

and fight them in the garage. I made mine out of a Roomba and a hydraulic nail gun. Controlling it can be a bit tricky because it seems to just go wherever it wants.

pretty much, yeah. I let the neighbors kids play with that one now because I am working out the specs for something much better. it will be made from an automated lawn mover and a couple of circular saws.

That is cool. I build them too. My last one was a 3 pounder that I took to Gastonia for a tournament. It had a 4 1/2 in saw blade attached to a drone motor. Top speed on the blade was 1200 RPM.

Would be a cool thing to watch on the jumbotron at Death Valley during halftime of home games .
The band could play something dramatic and our bot would battle the other teams bot ... to the death .
