Duke just got screwed

Oct 31, 2015, 10:52 PM

Wow

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I thought the blocks were okay. That knee was questionable***

Clemson

a play like that has just GOTTA count, though

Oct 31, 2015, 10:53 PM

it was too awesome.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

it was incredible, but that's hardly a good enough

Oct 31, 2015, 11:30 PM

Reason to let the play stand. I
Imagine if that happened to Clemson. There would be a riot in Death Valley.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

quite honestly, Duke should have never been in the lead

Oct 31, 2015, 11:33 PM

their final TD was a Christmas gift from the refs, who randomly stopped the clock for them several times when they had no timeouts. They should not have scored with the pisspoor clock management they displayed.

Did you watch the final 3 minutes live? I did.

I can't stand either team, so I don't care who won.

Re: quite honestly, Duke should have never been in the lead

Oct 31, 2015, 11:39 PM

It doesn't matter what happened prior to that. Are you saying a makeup call was warranted? That's ethical

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

why do you care so much?

Oct 31, 2015, 11:45 PM

it was one of those wild, incredible plays that will live forever now.

Good for college football.

If you choose to stomp you feet and flail your arms every time you see it for the next 20 years, then by all means, be sure to kick your dog and throw your remote at the screen too.

I personally think it was awesome.

Re: why do you care so much?

Oct 31, 2015, 11:56 PM

I don't care about Duke or Miami, I care that there is integrity with the officiating. Missed calls happen all the time and that's fine, but this was a pretty blatant screw up that was "reviewed"

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

good luck with that***

Nobody is mentioning the Miami player from the sidelines

Running on the field before they scored. It was blatant.

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Apparently that would just be treated as a celebration-type

Nov 1, 2015, 1:24 AM

penalty, and would be enforced on the Kick-Off (or extra point). Since the game was over, it was irrelevant.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Bull! Legit play. Duke celebrated early. Haha!***

Re: Duke just got screwed

Oct 31, 2015, 10:59 PM

Duke received two nonsense pass interference calls on their go ahead to drive. Miami did not make pass interference. It evened out.

Re: Duke just got screwed

Oct 31, 2015, 11:05 PM

#22 for Miami nailed one of the Duke guys square in the back at the 15 yard line earlier on.Not that I'm some Duke fan but despite ESPN's announcers kiss #### attitude to the officials, the officials blew it early on. That was the only problem with the play but it was a no question block in the back.

This is the play im referring to

Oct 31, 2015, 11:06 PM

Clear as day

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

ESPN guy called it a "push down"-not a block--what the crap

Oct 31, 2015, 11:11 PM

is that? Even Ron Cherry wouldnt have missed that one.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

BTW--there is no "push down" in the NCAA rule book***

Oct 31, 2015, 11:07 PM

from the sideline. Obvious penalty

Re: Nobody noticed the Miami player running on the field

Oct 31, 2015, 11:37 PM

Yes, #11. Was not wearing a helmet either. #22 blocked in back.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Bottom line: tackle the ball carrier before he scores***

Seen that play tried many times in HS, college and pros. This is the first time I ever saw it go for TD. Unbelievable. But the GT win against FSU was unbelievable too. Anything can happen.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgmilitary_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up
