No timeout to review = the onsides kick in 2016 = coaching

Jan 14, 2020, 6:56 PM

The staff learned a hard lesson by getting burned with a lop-sided kickoff formation in 2016 that could have been argued as costing them the 2015 Natty. It seems that a similar hard lesson was learned last night about not calling a TO to review the LSU player being out of bounds, which even on TV seemed obvious. Being that close in person, it should have been super obvious. At worst, only a TO is lost in the first half. I hope this lesson is hard-coded into future game plans the same way the onsides kick surely is.

They had plenty of time for review of that play. They didn’t want to change it, so no delay. I saw it from my end zone seat at the game.
