It’s not all about salary now. If you build your career correctly

It will equal more money later as opposed to going for a lot now and then getting fired in 3 years and struggling to get a job again. Though the buyouts are nice.

No annual property tax on cars and such in Florida.
South Carolina might give us a little break with the $300 max sales tax on cars but man they stick it to us every year on the property tax.

but where all the real scrooing takes place is when you consider how many times a used car changes hands.
A ten year old car will very often, have a sales tax just as high as when that same car was new.
Oh, and pardon me, it's not a sales tax any longer. It's an IMF "fee".

I'll back off when you stop driving slow in the left lane with your kids in the back seat watching Peppa Pig.

If only that were true... I've lived there & all they do is raise property taxes & sales tax - plus a hundred other hidden or value added taxes on this & that. And housing is WAY more. Believe me, you don't come out ahead in the end.
Places to REALLY avoid are states in the northern quadrant - and the West Coast, obviously. Friends/relatives of ours in MA, CT, NY, OH, NJ & PA are all shocked at the low prop taxes in SC. About 1/3 what they pay "up there." Usually higher sales, state income, etc too. "State Death Taxes" also on just about any net worth.

Charlie Strong's contract at USF was less $2M per year.
Base compensation 2017 guaranteed pay: $1,000,000 Total contract pay: $9,800,000 Contract length: 5 years Start date: 12/9/2016 Expires: 12/31/2021
Plus Bonuses
The contract was progressive increased guaranteed each year. I couldnt find his buyout if he was fired.

Strong was due a $2.5-mil "mid-contract bonus" this year. Bet they had to pay that.
