Summer breakdown: Juniors lead the way in receiving corps without last year’s stars

Clemson loses valuable starters in Mike Williams, Artavis Scott, and Jordan Leggett from last year's national championship squad, but plenty of talent returns for head coach Dabo Swinney. All they need is a chance. Full Story »

Ha. OK. I was being purposely snippy. Have to do that a few times a week to keep my blood pressure down. Ha.

I certainly agree. Daniel's articles are very good.

The uncertainty is not at wr, it's at qb.***

Amen to that - those two kids have the potential to be superstars. I cannot wait for the start of the season. Go Tigers!

Listed Heights of current and recent WRs

I was curious about our seeming propensity to match a tall receiver with a short(ish) one year after year. The trend is not as pronounced as I imagined, but definitely Overton/Powell and Higgins/Rodgers fit the trend.

2012 - Jaron Brown(6'2"), DeAndre Hopkins(6'1")
2013 - Martavis Bryant(6'4"), Sammy Watkins(6'1")
2014 - Adam Humphries(5'11")
2015 - Charone Peake(6'2")
2016 - Mike Williiams(6'4"), Artavis Scott(5'10")
Junior - Trevion Thompson(6'2"), Deon Cain(6'1"), Ray Ray McCloud(5'10"), Hunter Renfrow(5'11")
Sophmore - Diondre Overton(6'5"), Cornell Powell(5'11")
Freshman - Tee Higgins(6'4"), TJ Chase(6'1"), Amari Rodgers(5'10")

Current players re from the roster, pros are from RotoWorld

I think deon Cain is going to have a amazing year. This year is the year I think everything clicks for him and he takes that next step and becomes a every down threat. We already know he's a deep threat but think he will be more of an do it all wr this year. Renfrow will have another great year being that reliable guy the new qb can depend on when needed. I also think Powell will have a break out year. Then we always have atleast one freshmen that balls out and I think that guy will be Rodgers, I think he will have a good year similar to Tay scotts freshmen year. Also think Tee Higgins will make some plays and it is a toss up to whether Higgins or Rodgers has the better freshmen year. Bottom line we are STACKED at wr. I didn't even mention Overton or others that could have good years too! Can't wait Go Tigers!!

We're strong here at receivers. The season will bear this out. Go Tigers.
