No lack of swagger: Defense fuels rout of Appalachian St.

Seven players from Clemson’s top-ranked defense were on NFL rosters heading into that league’s first weekend, but don’t think the swagger is gone. The swagger is alive and well.

Great showing by 1st string.defense. Loved it when Coach Venables brought them back in to stuff their goal line stand. Second string needs some work to correct mistakes, but that will happen soon. 1st team Offense anemic in 1st qtr with DW a little unsettled. StI'll a lot of blocking issues on the run game. That needs to be fixed quick. Nick has not been impressive in first 2 games. Lots of talk up about how good he did in camp, but he still needs work. Time to focus on Louisville on a quick turn around for Thursday night. You bet they are not a happy bunch being 0-2. Practice hard and get.ready. GO TIGERS!!!

Need to put Nick on the practice squad and activate him only when he can complete 3 passes in a row lol!

Am thinking it would help if the quarterbacks were coached to slide into tackles rather than pretend they were fullbacks and go head first into tackles.

#16 Tight End Jordan Leggett Blows Up CU Running Play

Sep 12, 2015, 11:43 PM

Jordan Leggett is a liability to our offense when he is tasked to block someone. He is the most inept offensive player we have. Watch him (#16)embarrassingly miss App. St. defensive end and DE blow up Artavis Scott jet sweep.

Leggett needs to be a WR

not really sure why was positioned as a TE here at Clemson. Watching his film from HS he lined up wide as a WR the majority if not all the time. With his size he is a huge weapon in the passing game over the middle, on the side line, and especially in the end zone. He may not be the fastest player to play WR but there are plenty of big tall wide outs that are very successful that are not that fast. Just look at GT last year with both there big WR's. Neither would break any 40 records but with their size it was easy to get separation. Mike Evans at TAMU wasn't very fast but was a beast for them and Manziel. It just seems like with his lack of ability to block, that doesn't seem like it's going to get any better, that they would use him differently than as a traditional blocking TE.
