Go to a day game at Busch Stadium. If you are going for a run, don’t go East in Downtown. The food scene is ok, but not great. People are friendly and the bars are fun.

Oh and I loved the Hyatt, has a rooftop pool and bar and is right by the arch.
Thaxton Speakeasy is the place I was trying to think about earlier. Place is amazing for a craft cocktail.

What part of town are you staying in? I went a decent bit for work and would say it's an ok, but not top tier, city to visit.
If you've never been, the gateway arch and surrounding park are worth going to, as is the Cardinals stadium. I enjoyed touring the Budweiser brewery but that was years ago before craft breweries were everywhere. Forest Park is enormous and great for walking. It also has what I remember being a good zoo.
I second the toasted ravioli recommendation. The Hill neighborhood is known for its Italian food. There are a million good local breweries if that's your scene. I remember the bbq being just ok, but don't remember where I ate. Ted Drewes and Crown Candy Kitchen are both worth checking out for dessert.
Downtown felt safe to me but there are a lot of sketchy areas nearby. Do not go to East St. Louis. I got a lot of recommendations to check out the Loop but thought it was dirty and felt run down.
