Oden had other issues. Amare Stoudemire had the surgery and he has continued his career. he is not the same player but has looked pretty good this year

Clooney is a lazy undisciplined individual. Spurrier knew it.

These injuries actually make a case that he is not lazy though.....

Some of you are so blinded by hatred for Clowney that you have no logical perspective on his surgery. I do understand why you might despise him, after his three years of playing against the Tigers. But this is hilarious! So I guess that C.J. Spiller is just laying low in Buffalo, taking their money with 200+ yards for the entire season? Of course not! Andre Ellington? Where is he when the Cardinals need him? Is he laying down with fake injuries just so he can take the money? Not a chance! Injuries are a part of the game, and more so a part of the NFL. Try taking off those orange tinted glasses once in a while, and see the world objectively.

Dec 10, 2014, 11:13 AM [ in reply to Re: Na, Na, Na, Na........... ]

Ellington and Spiller have actually produced. Theyll be back just fine. But like I said last year clownboy would hijack his money and fade into oblivion the biggest bust ever. Lol and if he had cared one bit about usuck he would have actually put some work in instead of stiffing them on the bench for months. Hed better be glad a former coot picked him or hed have slid way down the draft board

I don't like to gloat about injuries. The dumb ### coots did this with Watson. We are better than that. Bottom line is the kid is from the state of South Carolina. He must have been having issues with his knees before this to have to have this surgery. You usually don't need this surgery from a one time injury to his knees that he had. I hope he recovers and returns to his normal speed. Once in a generation talent

Re: Clowney to miss up to 9 months following

Dec 10, 2014, 11:50 AM

LOL @ referring to "the Coots" in the first person.

Clowney is a once-in-a-generation bust, for sure.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He is right, he is a once in a lifetime player

Dec 10, 2014, 1:05 PM

A once in a lifetime bust like this doesn't come around everyday!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: He is right, he is a once in a lifetime player

Dec 10, 2014, 3:58 PM

Sorry...we're happy that a man's career is in jeopardy due to injury, just because he played for the Gamecocks?

That's...seriously distasteful.

Clowney's a state kid, and a decent human being from most reports. Why are we rooting for him to fail again?

How does it help Clemson in any way if Clowney's career disintegrates?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Wishing Clowney a Full Recovery!!

Dec 10, 2014, 4:08 PM

Come-on TIGER-NETTERS:
We are better than that! Once they leave ANY Program, I do not think we should wish or applaud any unfortunate injuries they receive!! I for one was also rooting for Lattimore to make it back even before he was drafted to the 49ers! He certainly was not in an Orange Uniform either!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Ill be wishing for a full recvoery also

Dec 11, 2014, 10:45 AM

so then we can find out what most already know. He is a bust with no work ethic.

But I presume that will not be the case. Injury will be used as an excuse for his short career.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Ill be wishing for a full recvoery also

Dec 11, 2014, 11:10 AM

Call me a coot, but I hope young JD recovers and makes it back to form. I really enjoy watching such a rare talent play - as long as it isn't against the Tigers. The surgery quoted sounds very ominous for his future though. Wikipedia describes it as an alternative to total knee replacement, which, um, they wont usually do until you are 60+. I feel bad for the kid.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Never said i was happy

Dec 11, 2014, 10:44 AM [ in reply to He is right, he is a once in a lifetime player ]

We knew he would be a bust and it has nothing to do with injuries. Its his work ethic!

I never felt this way about Lattimore or even Shaw for that matter. Both talented players with heart and a work ethic.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

"We are better than that."

Dec 11, 2014, 12:30 PM [ in reply to Re: Clowney to miss up to 9 months following ]

Actually no, there have been dozens of dozens of topics started and hundreds of replies making fun of Clowney being hurt. That is just who the people on this board are. Sad, but true.

Re: Clowney to miss up to 9 months following

Dec 11, 2014, 1:52 PM [ in reply to Re: Clowney to miss up to 9 months following ]

In all honesty I think the Clown did what he set out to do. He gained millions of dollars with very little work. And I don't fault the guy on that one.I only recall him shooting to everyone's top list because of "one" hit he put on a Michigan running back. That's it.Throw numbers all you want but truth is,if he didn't make that hit and recovered fumble ,he drops to the later rounds with that lazy last season at USuCk.But he suckered an NFL team into giving him guaranteed millions so he should be set, unless he spends it carelessly.
Other than the opinion of his laziness getting in the way of "talent" I do hope the kid recovers. But I don't feel bad for him like I do the other players who are out there pushing themselves to get better. He is a bust whether he comes back from this or not.His attitude made him a bust a long time ago.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

But,but,but he played hurt

Dec 11, 2014, 1:56 PM

I don't know why Slurrier would keep playing a guy and risking further injury to win football games.....(sound familliar?)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Granted this seems more common for NBA players and

Dec 11, 2014, 11:29 AM

there's not a lot of info out there for NFL players, but the chances of recovering from microfracture surgery and returning to a pre-injury level is really not too good. Penny Hardaway, Greg Oden, Andrew Bogut, and Amare Stoudemire are all examples of guys who were never the same. Tracy McGrady too although he was already pretty old when he had the procedure.
