2016 the NC State team was over matched and we under performed severely but still out gained them by 100 yards, throwing a pick 6, MW7 having a controversial fumble that NC State returned and totaling 4 turnovers including a blatant dirty hit to knock Gallman out to still pull out a win.
2017 Clemson had one of it's worst offenses in recent memory. Kelly Bryant is no longer the QB so don't expect those free 3 and outs as often due to bad throws. Deon Cain missed a few in this game including a TD and still was a nightmare match up for NC State as he drew personal fouls all night, NC State had it's best defense I can remember and still allowed explosive plays through the heart of their defense. We were able to walk away during this one with a win but they also played against a receiver trying to play CB and a Furman CB and a 1 handed Tanner Muse at safety.. This isn't the case now.
2018 will be different. If Deon Cain was a nightmare match up imagine how Higgens and Ross will be not including Rodgers is leaps and bounds ahead of last year. Our OL has remained the same practically and has been man handling people recently, ETN had shed would be tacklers every game and is putting up the best Power 5 numbers in almost a decade for YPC. Add that with an inexperienced State DL and there could be some trouble brewing, if our offense is able to move the ball unlike last year we will keep our defense fresh and those little screens that were effective last year will not work.
Clemson wins this one.

to throwing for 191. If Lawrence combines (throwing or rushing) for 279 yards, we will be fine.
But let's not act like Bryant held us back in this game last year. We scored 38 freakin points.

Yes we did but if you rewatch the game Bryant held us back greatly, we couldn't convert on 3rd down to save our life for most of the game. Yes he had his moments but he definitely could've done a lot better had he hit the open receivers which so far TL has done a great job of. I don't think we will succeed in the QB runs like we did with Bryant but our offense won't be held back by us trying a QB run every 1st and 3rd down it felt like.

Gallman getting knocked out in the FIRST quarter severely hurt our offense. I saw numerous plays that Gallman would have made that first down or scored a TD. NC played well, but our team should have beaten them by 3 scores.
