My biggest problem with continuing to win Championships is

Nov 20, 2019, 2:12 PM

That it means we just keep sugarcoating all the problems with our program instead of fixing them. Lose a game here and there and the light shines on the sore spots and we fix it. Offensive coordinators for example. Several of you have mentioned that we should fire them. Well I can assure you if we keep winning national championships, this won’t happen. Is it about winning a few battles here or there or winning the war?

After every game, coaches analyze play, and the good ones teach and make corrections regardless of the score. They keep on winning. Poor coaches are just happy when they are lucky enough to win a game against a weak opponent. Clemson has good coaches.

He's right. Too much success could make us fat and happy.

Fanbases aren't supposed to be happy.

I thought you were going to speak to the cost/financial investment that we, as fans, have to make to follow our Tigers! I keep telling my sons that this is rare air that we're in, so I'm going to enjoy it as long as it lasts. That said, we'll likely do what we did three years ago and pass on the travel to the semifinal game in Arizona and plan on going to the Sugar Bowl when/if we beat the Bucknuts.

Go Tigers!

I was expecting the cost of going to playoff games.

Nov 20, 2019, 3:33 PM

I'm not a season ticket holder and live far away from Clemson.

But I try to make at least one home or away regular season game a year, I've gone to a couple of ACC champ games in Charlotte, and I've been to a couple of the semis and the first and last championship game.

Just the travel, lodging, and tickets for those events has been more than I'd ever thought I'd spend to see Clemson play.

Hats off to you season ticket holders who also go to bowls, playoff semis, and playoff championship games. Impressed you've got the loose change for all that.

Go Tigers!

I agree, if we continue to win and people flock to the stadium every chance they get then when will maintenance ever have time to pressure wash the concrete? When will the custodians every have time to clean the restrooms and stands? #### all these problems with no answers!!! Sheesh!! LOL

My biggest problem with continuing to win Championships is that I am running out of room in my Antique Colonial Desk( it will be an antique in 2026)for all the Championship Ball Caps, hat pins, magazines and Coca-Cola Bottles I have collected since 2016.
But hey that's a pretty good problem to have when you consider our rivals down the road wish they had an Antique Colonial Desk.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

LOL....I can just imagine them crying,

Nov 20, 2019, 4:46 PM

"We don't want any national championship....We want an antique colonial desk!" Which is more than likely the best they can expect.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We will have to fire Dabo and hire some turd like Spurrier..

Nov 20, 2019, 4:24 PM

to get rid of those two OCs.

Agreed. What kind of character can we expect to instill in these young men if the greatest adversity ever contrived for any football team ever in history just gets dusted 44-16 and the lessons of hardship are lost forever?

Need to consider how other programs ensure their players must persevere through crisis and failure. Need to call William Q. Muschamp.

Good point! The Gamecawks will be experienced at losing, hard to recreate that adversity when a good part of your team has never lost a game as a collegiate athlete.

Re: My biggest problem with continuing to win Championships is

Nov 20, 2019, 8:47 PM

Indeed, the best way to bring down a program is to win too many championships! This is obvious... about as obvious as why the House socialists are trying to impeach Trump.
