My 2 favorite D stops in last two years are:
Jul 6, 2017, 9:21 PM
|
|
1. 2015: stop of ND near our goal line to squash tying 2 point play.
2. 2016: Stop of Louisville WR on 4th down about 2 yards short.
What's your favs?

Perhaps not quite as critical as either of those, but very close, would be Boulware stopping Dalvin Cook on 4th and 1.

That one came to mind as well but wasn't it Shaq and Boulware?

Shaq and Boulware. This gets my vote, they just shut the front door on Dalvin!

Yeah, hard to say these aren't the two tops but I'd have to add the ot endzone int in the nc state game last year...
Wow, then you get to thinking and there were a few in the album game too.
2014 goal line stop in Louisville game was pretty darn up there too!!!
Go Tigers.

Our best defensive stop was when Little Big Man switched from receiver to safety in the Championship game and tackled the Alabama guy that was running for a touchdown!

Being in death valley 3 years ago against us. Trying to end that terrible streak. We were up 28 to 10. They are moving and stephone Anthony got a bogus ejection. They had the balls first and goal from the two. Went for it on 4th and got stuffed.

Those would be mine as well - particularly since they were checkmate/kill plays.
If I added a third recent favorite, it would be in 2012, with Spencer Shuey shooting the gap against GaTech to tackle their A-back for a safety. That one play appeared to me to be the turning point in our LB style from playing safe to attacking. It wasn't a game ender, but it set the style of play on D that we're now using so well.

this past season:
1. Against Lewisville - pushing Quick out of bounds two yards short on 4th down. 2. Against NCSU - interception in the end zone in OT.

Gosh, It's tough to name only 2. Props for those listed, and here are a few more:
Stephon Anthony INT against Ohio State in the Orange Bowl Swatting Louisville pass at goal line in '14 (was that Carlos Watkins?) Wilkins & Boulware back-to-back sacks in Tallahassee
Can't wait to see what this season brings!!
