More important win to Clemson fans: Chapel Hole or NOLA

Jan 13, 2020, 9:14 AM

at the CFP Championship?

Honestly my gut or knee jerk reaction would be football bc it always means alot but that basketball win was pretty freaking special. And no one deserves the encouragement more that BBrownell in a year where everyone is down on him. Good for him and he is tied as the winning-est coach in Clemson BBall History with Cliff Ellis. You could see all that pent up relief come out when he let out that victory scream at the end. What a great moment to exercise that demon finally. Now i guess the end of the world is near.

This is Clemson. The answer is football.

Basketball is irrelevant.

There's something in these hills.

Re: This is Clemson. Wrong

Jan 13, 2020, 9:50 AM

it is the diff in a season national championship versus a regular season game. It isnt the sport but it is a stupid question to even ponder

You cant be serious - a national championship or a regular season win during a year that we probably wont even make the NIT? Football and it's not even close.

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

IMO it's the Natty, but I'm super proud of the demon being exorcised from the BB program, too.

As always, I will lean towards football.... but dang, that BB win.

Winning the Nattie... heck yay!

Winning on Saturday... tears of happiness

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes ... hoops win was more a relief than celebration for me.

Jan 13, 2020, 9:44 AM

It has been such a ridiculous situation for generations of Clemson fans.

Now, to finally win an ACC tournament and at last claim full basketball membership in the conference.

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Dude, Clemson is playing for a national championship tonight***

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

The hoops win was monumental and historic. But somehow

Jan 13, 2020, 9:23 AM

... but somehow, even though I’ve waited my entire life thinking it might not ever happen, I found myself rather numb to the occasion mostly because it happened so close to the big football game.

I feel guilty for not being totally over the moon as I would have been in other years, but my mind is focused on the football game.

It’s wonderful to finally get over that Tar Heel hump and it will sink in later, especially If it turns out to be a catalyst for something great this season.

Meanwhile ... GO TIGERS, BEAT LSU!!!

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I’m very happy that streak is over with,

Jan 13, 2020, 9:26 AM

But it did happen against a terrible unc basketball team by their standards. And this is for a N.C. so football and not even close.

This was posted on Friday as well.

I hope you are not expecting an votes for basketball today either.

It's all football, and I would be willing to go back and call it an L, even after we actually won, if it means we can win tonight.

Even if we are talking a regular season Clemson football game vs Tigers over UNC hoops, I'd still go with the football game. A Tiger regular season football loss may eliminate them from championship competition. A Tiger bball loss most like doesn't make a difference one way or another.

Basketball is meaningless in comparison between the two situations.

really?

Jan 13, 2020, 9:42 AM

This should be asked about 30 more times

Winning a National Championship tops everything else - especially the erasing of a negative streak.
