Military Appreciation Day 2016

Nov 17, 2018, 4:27 AM

Military Appreciation Day will always hold a special place in my heart. Especially the one in 2016. Clemson Athletic department allowed me to fulfill a dream I’ve had for a long, long time. I am an 18 year active duty Sailor in U.S. Navy (F-18 Hornet Mechanic hooyah!) and my dream was to do my final re-enlistment in the Navy on The Hill next to Howard’s Rock before I retire in 2020. My wife got in touch with the Athletic Director to ask if it would be possible for me to do that. Clemson responded in a HUGE way! The CO of Clemson’s Marine ROTC unit was my re-enlistment officer and everyone in his command was there to witness it along with my wife, our 2 sons as well as my sister. This was all set without me knowing it. So grateful to Clemson for allowing my dream to become reality. Such an awesome day. This is something that I will carry with me for the rest of my life!
GO TIGERS!!!!
BEAT DUKE!!!!

Congrats on your re-enlistment and congrats for staying in the military to reach retirement! A lot of blood, sweat and tears goes into a military career but I can attest that the retirement package at the end of that trail is worth it...

Maj Charlie Nash did your reenlistment. (Former CO of Recruiting Station Columbia, SC.)

Here he is kicking field goals with the team...
