I'm surprised at you, MCat.
We subsidize business profits by allowing them to pay for labor at costs too low to live on, which is what this piece is bringing to light. You know too well that most native borns are too lazy or proud to work the low paying crap jobs that many of these immigrants are all too willing to fill, thus they are far more likely to require living assistance.
So either we double up what we pay for food and third up what we pay for construction, if we're lucky enough to get these services delivered in full without migrant work, or we dole it out a bit at a time via taxes and be thankful that there's enough labor out there to fill the gap.
