Francis Marion doesn't even have a football team. I went there from 2011-2012. They can't have a football team period. The people that sold the university the land that it was built on made them sign a paper saying they wouldn't have a football team. The reason is the people that sold the land to them lost their grandson in a football accident. However there has been some recent talks about them trying to find a way to get a team

There's thousands of acres all around the area without such restrictions running with the land.

Yeah I know but the paper they had to sign was saying that the university could not have a football team regardless of where the stadium would be built. As long as the campus is on that land they can't have a football team. I asked that question when I went there and that was the answer they gave me.
