Mark Fields Injured

Aug 23, 2018, 12:27 PM

Reading that Mark Fields was injured recently in practice. Seems like it could be another nagging injury. He couldn't even bend over to pick up a football without struggling.

Hopefully not serious, but we don't have a lot of depth at DB so of all positions, we need this group as healthy as possible this year. Fields hasn't recovered from injury in the past in an expeditious manner.

Yesterday I went to Clemson event with a speaker and in general conversation it was mentioned Fields might have had a minor hamstring injury, but nothing else was known.

We don’t need the setback under the limits we have in the secondary.

Go Tigers ??!!

Yes they have. In the article about TL taking first team reps it was said that he was in yellow and not moving well. Here is the article for reference:

Good catch. I'm sure there will be more questions the longer he is in yellow.

Thanks, that’s what I was looking for, so I could read it.

Hope it’s a quick heal. Hamstrings can be nagging but hopefully this one won’t be

It is real, but hopefully not serious. Given how Mark has battled injuries in the past, it's a bit concerning. He's been in yellow all week

Today?

Aug 23, 2018, 12:40 PM

Generally speaking, once classes start, practices aren't held until much later in the afternoon.

Yes you are right. It must have happened in the last couple days but somehow hasn't been reported on. I was thinking it happened today but realized they don't practice until the afternoon.

The team didn't practice yesterday (first day of class).***

He removed what he said but I screenshot it.

Poor thing..... Fields has struggled with so many injuries!

Aug 23, 2018, 12:43 PM

I was hoping he would get through this season without issues.

There's an article discussing Fields injury

Aug 23, 2018, 12:43 PM

on Tiger Illustrated (behind paywall), but feel free to continue bashing the messenger.

The key point...

"When last seen by the media at Tuesday's practice, Fields was wearing yellow and quite gimpy as he walked. As he tried to pick up a loose football near his feet, he struggled mightily just to bend enough to grab it."

Followed later...

"The vibe we get is that it's not a serious injury, so that would be good news."

I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me.

yeah I hope for his sake and ours selfishly that he will be good to go

Aug 23, 2018, 12:50 PM

Really hoping he has a good year for him going into a draft.

Re: yeah I hope for his sake and ours selfishly that he will be good to go

Aug 23, 2018, 12:51 PM

I couldn't agree more - I really want him to be that lockdown corner for us this year and go high in the draft. I think we will see a much improved Fields in 2018.

2024 student level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If its a hamstring injury

Aug 23, 2018, 1:16 PM

expect him to be under a super light load for a week and then be at about 70-80% for two weeks before being 100% if its a complete tear like I had a couple years back he just needs to worry about the strain of tearing the other while he's using it more like my dumb self did
