This absolutely the best thing about him getting back into coaching.

As we used to say at Clemson when I was a student: UNC-USC, no difference!

I’m very confused... one is on the east coast and one is on the west coast? They couldn’t be more different.

If pigs are so smart, why do 66% of them use weak and inferior materials during construction?

And finish 1-11

He beat Hatfield 24-0 in 1993 at Kennan. Left after that season for Austin.

that wasn't his last game, he coached at UNC till 97, beat us in 96 45-0 which is our worst defeat by them.

would love to see him destroy the coots first game!***

Appears Bubba is recruiting coaches from various assisted living facilities. When Roy gets there, will be able to provide additional contacts.

Why is the TV announcer a head coach?

Wasn't Muschamp the Head-Coach-in-Waiting under Mack at Texas? If so, this is Mack's chance to stomp a hole in Muschamp for ruining his Texas program.

I think it is a good move for them. It will give us some different problems against them

Mac Brown:

"What do you mean we don't have those AFAM paper classes anymore?"

He was hired to get boosters to write checks

To replenish the $22,000,000 that was spent to defend a couple of banners for sports in shorts

Long Live Dean- now write a check and I will be out of here in 2-3 years and on my way

He's the oldest coach in CFB now and hasn't coached in 5 years, and hadn't really coached much for 5 years before that.

He and Brewster will pull a few recruits away from Doeren and the wuffies but that's about it. Phil Longo isn't a particularly inspiring hire either.

It's a name hire to try and boost fundraising and build a sense of nostalgia towards the good old days...nothing more.

I agree. It's hard to see him not burning out as fast (or faster) than Mark Richt did at Miami, and likely with substantially worse results. He doesn't have near the talent or recruiting territory to pull from that Richt did.

He'll win some recruiting battles because, well, Mack Brown, but the way he managed to run Texas straight into the ground there at the end would be a glaring red-flag sign, for me, that the guy lost whatever edge he had a long ways back.

The last time Mack Brown was a actively thought of as a good coach was 10 seasons ago. Colt McCoy took whatever juice Mack had left with him.

Don't laugh but Rivala has them currently in the Top 10. Safe to say they won't finish there

This isn't 20-25 years ago. Mack won't have the stamina to last more than 2 or 3 seasons, and I'll bet never had intentions to do otherwise.

I also don't think Mack's a liar - so what's he gonna say when recruits ask, "Well Coach - will you be there my WHOLE time at UNC?"

Overall, I kinda like Mack. He's fair and seemingly a pretty decent person - but I can never wish UNC well, so I can't wish Mack well at UNC.

I think he's gone by the end of the '20 or '21 season.
