Clemson Enterprise Act

What is the overall thought of this Act? I've read a good bit about it, and I believe it really helps Clemson. What say you?

Clemson. It will allow us to keep up with the other schools in terms of academic, housing and athletic facilities. Without it, the idiots in the state house in Columbia will be able to keep our projects mired in the political bureaucratic process that now exists there. Even when we do not use any taxpayer dollars. Colleges in Georgia and NC don't have to do that and are far ahead of us.
It is called the Clemson Enterprise Act because USC would not support us in the effort. Even though they will benefit.

as always, Clemson leads the way, takes all the bashing and battering from the State House, media, and other wonks; then USC jumps on board and rides our coattails.

Do you think it'll pass now? Shane Martin from Spartanburg blocked it last year and he's a Clemson grad. Why would he block it and why would it benefit USCjr?

under their medical authority - their hospital system does not have to go through the processes that their academic side does. The Enterprise Act would be patterned after this.
many other states have governmental "authorities" that do this, opertaing as quasi-governmental entities. An airport authority or port authority for example.
