Last year the mighty SEC had 1 (one) team that won double digit games - that's right 1. Only two teams won 9 games and 4 won just 8. Everyone talks about the top heavy ACC, does anyone ever look at the records in the SEC?
Clemson did not have as easy a path to the NC as Alabama did.

Just for comparison:
Big12 - 4 teams over 7 wins, 3 teams in double digits (10 teams)
Pac12 - 6 teams over 7 wins, 4 teams in double digits (12 teams)
SEC - 7 teams over 7 wins, 1 team in double digits (14 teams)
ACC - 8 teams over 7 wins, 3 teams in double digits (14 teams)
Big10 - 7 teams over 7 wins, 4 teams in double digits (14 teams)

SEC has 14 teams as well with the addition of Mizzou and A&M.

The SEC was only 7-7 in bowl games because in most cases they didn't really want to be there. The whole conference, from top to bottom, is so elite that unless a game is for the national championship they really don't care about it.

The SEC has been trending down for the last couple years and I think most of the talking heads recognize this....
However, the SEC had nine teams in the top 25 of the 247 composite rankings for 2017, FIVE in the top 10, and it's like that every year. They recruit better and will be one of the best conferences year in year out.

If the SEC is so good and their records are due to beating up on each other then how do you explain a 7-7 bowl record. The ACC was 9-3!

Maybe the SEC needs to quit having rivalry games with the ACC. They are 2-10 against the ACC in the last 3 years. UL and GT lost 1 game each to UK and UGA respectively.

The talking heads have shifted their reasons for the downward trend to......
Successful coaches being run off because they cannot compete with Alabama.
The SEC has more excuses than a democrat caught with a prostitute.
