If the name of a group is:
It's Unconstitutional to Pay Federal Taxes to Support this Socialist Mutt's Spending Programs It's common sense they will face more scrutiny if the IRS feels like their whole existence is based not paying them what they're legally supposed to.

Joe prolly thinks the orgs. are racist or anti-muslim. He and Geech are obsessed with the tea party groups. It's sick to see folks defend the indefensible.

mooslims are known for bombing us and say daily they want to wipe us off the earth. Yes we should profile them.
The IRS has no beef with, or shouldn't have, with any tea party group. It's as tax exempt as any lib group. apples to oranges.
But again, I'm amazed at the people defending this. just shows the level libs will go to defend this pos.

The IRS profiling any political interest group = bad
May 15, 2013, 11:22 AM
[ in reply to Profiling mooslims = good. Profiling political interest ] |

Or more accurately the IRS adding extra scrutiny to any particular section of groups which lean a certain direction = bad.
I'm not sure how folks on the other side of the political spectrum can think this is a good thing for a group with the power the IRS yields to do.
I don't care what you're political leanings are, this appears (and I say appears because I can only gather facts from the news) to be an issue worthy of an fair-minded person's attention and scorn.

Just with a little dig at some who see no problem with wiping their ### with our Constitution when it suits themj, but wave it as God's Holy Word at other times.
I really haven't seen anyone suggest that the IRS should have done this. I can't conceive of any argument to defend such an action regardless of one's political leanings.
BTW, I appreciate your thoughtful and considerate style of posting, as well as your quite rational analyses. I might suggest, however, you are quite the exception here. Many of us don't differentiate between the PnR bored or the Lunge. They rose up together, and neither is a place suitable for a serious, thoughtful discussion. Might just be a consideration to keep in mind.

I clearly misinterpreted you initial post.
I tend to agree that both political sides have portions which like to ignore parts of the constitution when it's convenient.
I'll take your last paragraph into consideration, and leave you with a simple "#### off you ignorant ####ing commie!"

You're sympathizing with the government's motivation, Joe, which is really immaterial in this case.
It's unconstitutional to target a group even if--no, especially if--the group's lawful purpose happens to run contrary to the government's policies.

agencies, like the State Department, which both predate and live beyond elected administrations, and they have their own way of doing business. They are frequently the vexing burr under the saddle of Presidents and Congress. I get the mental image of the Vogons and their forms and intractable organizational charts from "The Hitchhiker's Guide" books.
