Never forget the heroes of Flight 93, who were the first ones to fight back in the War on Terror, before the rest of us even knew we were at war. It is a long way from home for me, but I plan to make the trip to Shanksville, Pennsylvania one day to honor their memory. Only the hijacker pilots know for sure what the target of that plane was, although Intelligence agencies say it was probably The Capitol. Since it was on a higher elevation than the White House, that made it the easier aerial target. Flight 93 passengers denied the terrorists the satisfaction of destroying the symbolic seat of power of our government. I will always be grateful to them for their sacrifice.

Scary to think where that plane might have hit and the destruction - both physical and symbolic - it would have done. Whether it was the White House, US Capitol, or something similar, it would have been awful. Very, very thankful to those men and women.
