Latest on Nelson "Nellie" Welch

Just got this from Nelson's brother....
Many of you know my brother Nelson had a massive heart attack Wednesday morning. He was rushed by EMS to Spartanburg Regional, heart cath was done & showed multiple blockages. He received one stint into the main artery & has been in the Heart Center’s CCU since.
Nelson is stable and continuing to improve. The current goal is to wean him from a pump that has been aiding his heart while recovering. We are hopeful that can occur today.
After that, he will be observed for 24 hours before any further decisions are made. The other blockage will not be addressed until then.
Pray BIG for strength and rest for Nelson.
Thanks so much to everyone who has Nelson & The Welch Family on ur prayer list! God is so good all the time & w/see us all through this!

Glad to get the update. As someone with multiple cardiac stents I can attest to a sound recovery over time with a well planned rehab program. His outcome long term will depend upon several factors including the degree of heart damage from the occurrence itself.

He's certainly at the right place as far as I'm concerned . Spartanburg Regional has one of the top Heart ICU units the country .
