I mean Rivals' rankings are always a little jacked up anyway. But maybe 2019 won't be a strong class for the state of South Carolina, it comes and goes. This year was, next year maybe not.

While it's fashionable to make fun of them, they do make some valid points. Player definitely get rated higher based on their offer list. There's been numerous instances of a power school like Alabama or Ohio State offering a kid and his rating subsequently jumping up by a star.
Do you really think it's feasible for a recruiting service to assess the talent at every single high school in the United States? That's gotta be well over 100,000 different schools. There's no way possible they are fully objective in their evaluations.
Clearly our current coaching staff is a master of evaluations though- so I really couldn't care less what the "recruiting gurus" think.
