Kinda worried about SCAR this year.
Aug 11, 2015, 2:35 PM
|

After they go 6-7, curb-stomped by Clemson again, they will run Slurrier outta town. Which means they may get a young, energetic coach like Dabo.
Anybody else?

Whats more, his ego is entirely too big to allow himself to be fired by a perenial doormat. He would simply resign and head-off to to Florida and the golf course long before he ever allowed that to happen.

You don't "fire" a legend like the OBC. I do see them pushing him to retire which he just may. If they do go this course, there is a good chance they get a young energetic coach. However, other young coaches know the non-history at USC and while they will be wanting to build a program, they will probably be wanting to go to a school where that can actually happen (like Chad Morris at SMU who has a huge recruiting pool). USC has never been known for anything but a 3 year run where they didn't even win the SEC. To me as a young coach, there would be more negatives than positives. However, if they do go with an older legend style coach, they will probably get the reputation that USC is where coaches go to retire (holtz and spurrier).

because Spurrier worked his magic when he went out and literally stole Jon Hoke from the NFL who, as the Capons would have you believe, was the only coach Spurrier ever really wanted anyway. Meanwhile, offensive coordinators all across the NFL were deeply saddened by the news of Hoke's departure.

Hoke was apparently more desperate than Spurrier.....
Aug 11, 2015, 4:12 PM
|

Spurrier had to do something to keep his moronic fan base guzzling the CootAid and Hoke needed a job since, after leading the Bears to the 31st ranked pass defense in the league, no other NFL teams wanted anything to do with him.

But unless they cheat at recooting again (Whitneygate) they won't be able to get good players to that craphole that is Cootlumbia. That's why good coaches go there and their careers go down the toilet.

you Jock Straps wouldn't be spending the holidays in places like Shreveport.
At 7 - 6 Spurrier said you had a good season last year and no one is expecting any improvement this year, including Spurrier.
There's a reason you clowns were picked to finish 4th in a weak division.

Well if you read their message boards, the fans think they are going 10-2 or 11-1.
They haven't even named a starting QB yet and there is talk that a walk-on may win the job.
No OL, No QB, only one WR who will be double covered most of the time, one decent RB, no LB's, secondary or DL. They have.... a washed up coach, a QB coach who is a sex offender, a co-DC who fights with the other staff during games, and another co-DC who coached in the NFL. Mind you it was ranked in the bottom half for many years and ranked in the bottom 3 of defenses in the last 3 years.
Seriously, what do they have? I'm asking because I don't know.
You guys noticed since the Whitney Hotel bit that they haven't been able to recruit well? Strange indeed. I'm smelling a 6-6 or 5-7 season.
