Justin Flowe

Dec 3, 2019, 11:14 AM

Will be committing during the early signing period on the 18th of this month. Tigers are still massive favorites here as of now, in fact the past few weeks what I’ve heard was it wasn’t a matter or where but when he commits.

Let's hope you're right and Burch follows suit.

I haven't heard anything good on Burch recently.

I am with TigersO on this one, haven’t heard much but what I have heard hasn’t been promising. Luckily nobody with really know until he press pen to paper but he has been the hardest recruitment I’ve tried following the past few years.

If people were as good as their obituary - and products were as good as advertised - this would truly be a wonderful world !!

He will make the loss of Simmons a little bit easier.

I wish we could find several Simmons clones. That guy is a baller.

Speaking of recruiting predictions, does anybody know what happened to Tiger Woods?

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

Re: Justin Flowe

I hope you are correct.

The story early on was that the reason he was holding his commitment was that he wanted to see a big name come to USC and he would stay home.

They appear to he hanging on to Helton, possibly because their other choices said no, so that is a big help to the Tigers if all of the earlier stories were true.

If he comes to the Tigers then I am glad he is holding his commitment.

Signing day commitments are usually a big splash to the class and generate a lot of news.

Clemson doesn't always get that big splash because the classes are done early.

Ross and Carmen were huge recruiting wins in 18 that came to the wire. Putnam in 19 was huge too. But not much room for shifting due to our first come policy.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Justin Flowe

Dec 3, 2019, 3:19 PM

Putnam was a very good pickup but not a national splash like the other two you mentioned.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but we don't typically get the major signing day commitments the way we did with Ross and Carman as you mentioned.

Flowe will announce on the 18th and enroll in January.

Burch very likely isn't coming to Clemson. I've written him off.

Re: Justin Flowe

Remember that nobody thought Christian Wilkins was coming to Clemson , until he did .
Then everybody thought Rashan Gary was a Clemson lock , until he wasn't.
The point is we often times base our opinions on a high school kid's Twitter feed , or his silence about commitment , or that they're not taking an official visit to Clemson when all we really know about some of them is that they're just high school kids enjoying a process .
I'm not convinced that Burch is gonna commit to Clemson , but I also have no good reason to assume he won't ...and neither does anyone else .

Well said. I'm with you. Just stating my opinion on what he might do.

Re: Justin Flowe

Dec 3, 2019, 12:34 PM

I am curious what your opinion is based on, as Burch hasn't said anything to anyone in the way of recruiting sites. I am just going to assume that no one knows except his immediate family and who knows whether he has made his final decision. It is not odd that he has been to USC a lot since he lives in Columbia, his teammates are the USC coach's son, and his coach is a former USC player.

Re: Justin Flowe

Dec 3, 2019, 2:47 PM

Since Burch has said nothing, my opinion is based his actions (visits) and the fact we are already loaded with what might be the best D-line class ever.

I seriously doubt it's USCe. My ranking of his list in order is: LSU, Alabama, us, UGA, USCe.

If he does give us an OV on the 13th, nuke what I said above.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Justin Flowe

Dec 3, 2019, 2:55 PM

Bama isn't a contender from what I've been hearing, UGA is expected to be a distant 3rd and it's down to Clemson and LSU I believe. Only U6C good news has come from gut feelings from U6C reporters.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

LSU makes a lot of sense for Burch unless he doesn't want

Dec 3, 2019, 3:06 PM

to go that far from home. They desperately need defensive line help, they are hot right now, and Orgeron seems like a charismatic players coach that guys would really want to play for. I'd love to get Burch, but LSU needs him a lot more than we do.

Flowe will play behind a D-line that absorbs blockers like a sponge. He can clean up with highlight hits.
