Just watched the last drive of Bama vs LSU

Nov 5, 2012, 2:52 PM

If you remember LSU didn't back off when SC was on their last drive and was very aggressive and shut down SC. Yet just got soft and let Bama march right down the field on them. I mean SC has more deep threats than Bama. Not like Bama has an explosive offense that you should be scared to get beat deep. Miles made a lot of bone headed choices in that game. Guy is a moron and better be glad he coaches at LSU and has 5 star guys all over the field, cause he sucks as a coach

I agree

Why would you change what you're doing when it worked for the last 30+ minutes??

Only thing the prevent defense does is prevent you from winning. There is reason the QB from Bama was 1-7 in the second half before that drive ... aggressive DB's. Din't roll up on them till the end - too late then.

That's how NY beat NE last year in the Super Bowl

You apply as much if not more pressure at the end of the game. If you go into a prevent, Tom Brady will pick you apart 10 yards at a time and then score with nothing left on the clock. McCarron isn't Brady, but it's a similar situation. Alabama has good enough players to pick apart a soft zone all the way down the field. Huge mistake by Miles or the DC, whoever thought prevent was a good idea. If they burn you long, at least you have an extra minute to go back the other way, but odds are you'll get a couple sacks, hurried throws, turnover, or turnover on downs.
