Just read TDP interview and wanted to sum up my

opinion before I looked at a single other post about the interview. After reading the interview, my opinion is:

I read it and i think now we will stay, and FSU will too. He made a good point about playing uga and usc. We don't play two tough out of conference games in a tough big12.

What if the Big XII allows an 8 game conference schedule? That would, btw, cut conference expense for travel thereby leaving more money in the schools pocket.
Imagine a home and home series with UNC, UVA, etc?
Think it is not possible? I say it is.

maybe he was trying to say they had to do it at Arkansas and it turned out to be a great decision for them. Maybe getting us ready for a similar decision here.

He made it clear if the ACC goes to 16 it better be all about football. So who would it be? ND, Penn St. I don't see any other options out there as football schools.

limited and there were certain avenues he just couldn't go down. But I think from what I read, we have made our decision and we intend to leave unless something in the deal falls apart.
Seriously, not flaming, what was your take? Or did you come away with no more inclination either way than you had before reading it?

what i got from it and what a buddy of mine i just talked to got out of it was nothing really. tdp is being very smart, unlike the guys at fsu. he was just staying right along the company line.

on what he didn't say. I feel like if the plan was to stay, he would have been much more pro ACC than he was. He actually said the ACC wold have to do things very differently. Another thing he didn't say was an emphatic denial of any possibility of leaving the conference. Though he did say there were no talks between Clemson and Big12, but everyone expected him to say that.

i can imagine that clemson, vpi and fsu had a come to jesus meeting with the powers that be in the acc at the acc meetings. i am of the opinion those 3 schools will not be left behind in the big picture whether that means moving or the acc getting off its ### and making it stronger. if it ever comes down to 4 power conferences teams like duke and vandy and iowa state and other should be the ones to start worrying imo.

the ACC and 2) it is not the Big XII we are getting ready to leave for. He outright denied any Big XII contact. That leaves the SEC, which despite protests about TV markets yada yada yada is more about national branding and appeal.

There is a strong tendency to read what you want into statements. Having said that, I am in favor of the move to the Big12, and I agree with you.
