...since when does a law-abiding American citizen need a reason at all to be in any public location they well please to be?

I get that a few will see his being there, especially a Bama player as unnecessarily provocative. My guess also is that had an actual player not been there, it would have gone mostly unnoticed or "Hey isn't that DW over there"? and talked about privately.
