I've been to Michigan Stadium

The 2008 game vs MSU. Javon Ringer broke off a few long TD's against Scott Shafer's terrible Deffense - yes, same Shafer that was at Syracuse. It was RichRod's first year there and there was a ton of excitement.
The stadium bowl is deep deep into the ground. At the time they were building the new brick sides/suites that have turned it into a nice stadium, it was a craphole at the time of my visit. It's very flat in Michigan, so they basically dug an enormous hole in the ground, poured some concrete and put seats in it. There were 110,000+ people there ( they announced the crowd, don't remember exactly but it was around 114,000 I believe ), and it was pathetic the noise they made for the Deffense- I was not impressed. I've been to about 30 Clemson games, and I've heard more crowd noise for FAU and SC St than they made for thier biggest rival ( ok 2nd to OSU ), anyway, what I'm getting at is that I would never ever say that they have a rabid fanbase- my wife is from a place called Flint, you may have heard of it, formerly known as Buick City, now known as Lead City. She moved down here in 2004 so no worries for her, she does still have family there, but luckily none effected by the current situation.
I've been there many times, and have never met a rabid Michigan fan..... Never. I've seen where people have been saying that lately about Michigan and had to set the record straight... People wear their hats, they talk a little bit about football here and there but absolutely not rabid by any means. Rashaun was held hostage to his HS coach's job, and friends that had already committed to U-M. He is missing out on a real rabid fanbase, a depth chart that would allow him to succeed, without having to play every down. He knows he made the choice that he had to make for others. He will succeed no matter where he plays, so he made a sacrifice for others. I personally think that that is the most mature and responsible thing a young man can do. In this "all about me" day and age, he did something for others. I wish him the best, and personally I like U-M and call them my second team, so if he won't wear orange atleast he's wearing the maze and blue.

MSU won by the way. Don't remember the score but is was something like 28-20. Tate Forcier was awful and Shoelace hadn't arrived yet.

I recall an article some time back which read that

They actually had to move the field to like 3 feet below the water table. So they need pumps to keep it from flooding.

and while it is an iconic venue for college football, in my opinion, the place is grossly over-rated and too much is made of its history and tradition.
Sure it's big, as the name implies, but the venue itself is hardly spectacular. The fans sit on the hands the entire game and rarely get loud. It just doesn't bring that wow factor that other venues, particularly those throughout the southeast (including Clemson), effortlessly provide, and playing mediocre to less-than-mediocre football over the past decade hasn't done anything to help.
Maybe it's more impressive at some games than others.

but unlike Michigan, he was not a must have for Clemson.
Me made his choice and he's the one who will have to live with it not us.
You're right. Best of luck to him but it's time to turn the page and move on.

For an adult to put a kid in this kind of situation. His heart was clearly in Clemson wish we could have got him on campus sooner. Oh well we are still loaded.
